Welcome to the Cattle Rings from Show Director, Rob Davenport

I would like to give a warm welcome to all livestock exhibitors who have entered this year’s Virtual Royal Cheshire County Show 2020 in what are unprecedented times. It was with a heavy heart we had to make the decision to cancel the live show. I cannot thank you enough for the enthusiasm you have all shown in all sections of the livestock classes, it has made the Virtual Show worthwhile, the entries, the effort and professionalism from all exhibitors has been fantastic. That leaves me to wish all very good look with your entries. I hope you all enjoy watching the grand parade. From us all at the Royal Cheshire County Show we look forward to being able to welcome you all to next year’s 2021 show. The competitions have been made possible by the Cloud Lines Shows platform. Cattle Competition

"You can always improve your ability to Judge through constant contact with good animals, observing prize winners locally and nationally and listening to breeders. Let us not lose sight of the practical the profitable and the functional type in our livestock. Animals with desirable types possess characteristics to do what they are bred for over a long period and most important of all economically. There is no substitute to seeing and handling animals in the flesh. Breed character is very important to me. Animals exhibiting style and presence. Femininity in the females and Masculinity in the bulls. In all classes I will be favouring animals not of extreme type. Low maintenance, trouble free individuals, functional type. One of the most important traits for me is mobility, animals must be able to get around and move freely and be able to do whatever they are bred for. Good luck."
