FAQs – Light Horse Competition

1. When will the Light Horse schedule be released?

Light Horse schedules will be available from early March via our website. We will no longer automatically be issuing hard copies. Should you still wish to receive a hard copy of the schedule, please send a self-addresses envelope size, C5 (162 mm x 229 mm) affixed with a stamp of ‘large letter’ value to the address below, clearly marking your envelope ‘Light Horse.’

Cheshire Agricultural Society CIO
Clay House Farm, Flittogate Lane, Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 0HJ

You can enter online via our website from early March

Please note: We are not able to email schedules to competitors.

2. How can I find which judges will be attending the show in 2019?

The list of judges for the 2019 will be available on our website nearer the date.

3. Do I need to register my horse/pony with my Breed Society and or HOYS to be eligible to enter classes at the show?

You will need to be registered with your own Breed Society before entering classes at the show. You also need to be registered with HOYS before entering qualifying classes at the show. If you are unsure if you are registered, please contact your Breed Society and or HOYS with this matter and not The Royal Cheshire County Show office.

Please note:  The Royal Cheshire County Show cannot be held responsible for any entries that are found not to be eligible to compete.

4. Once the closing date has passed, will you be able to tell me how many entries will be in classes I have entered?

Unfortunately, we are unable to let you know how many entries we have in particular classes, this is due to the sheer workload we have at this very busy time. We are not only processing in excess of 3000 light horse entries, but also many hundreds of cattle, sheep, goats pigs, poultry and much, much more.

Full details of class entries will be available within the official Light Horse catalogue which is available on show days. Remember, you can pre-order your copy if you enter online via our website.

Tip: Please ensure you complete all sections of the entry forms as required. Any incomplete forms will be returned to you for completion, as we are unable to process them without full information being available. This delay may result in your entry/ies missing the closing date deadline.
