Mark Price

Mark started his career as a chef in 1999, working as an apprentice at Chaucer House Hotel in the Lake District, whilst attending and gaining his cookery qualifications at Kendal Catering College.

In 2001 Mark moved south, working at Marine Hotel in Salcombe and then Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey. Progressing through the ranks this was followed by Hawkwell House in Oxford and Regency Park in Berkshire.

In 2010 he made the move to Winchester where he obtained his first head chef position at The Corner House for The Little Pub Group. Later helping the group by opening another five pubs and restaurants around Winchester & The New Forest specialising in locally sourced ingredients. .

In 2015 Mark joined Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall opening the River Cottage Canteen in Winchester as Head Chef, earning the restaurant a Michelin Listing in a matter of months.

In 2020 Mark moved back up North to be near his family and his hometown of Manchester, with the opening of Groobarbs Field Kitchen in 2022.
